Peter Storey

Peter Storey is Managing Director of Gold Financial Pty Ltd, aged 59, married with two children and has over 33 years experience operating in the financial services field

He is a Fellow of the Australian & New Zealand Insurance Institute and a Certified Insurance Professional. Peter has extensive experience in the virtually every aspect of the superannuation market. Prior to establishing Gold Financial in conjunction with Bernie Toohey, Peter was Managing Director of GIS Concepts – a small private company dedicated to creating and promoting financial services products.

Peter spent the previous 6 years as General Manager of Trust Company Superannuation Services Limited – during this period, funds under trusteeship for Trust Company increased from $300 million to $7.7 billion.

Prior to joining Trust Company, Peter spent 10 years with the Colonial Group in a variety of senior management roles including Senior Product Manager (Investments), National Corporate Distribution Manager and Group Risk Product Manager.

In the 10 years prior to that, Peter spent 10 Years with the Sedgwick in a variety of roles culminating in Southern Regional Director for the Employee Benefit Division.

Peter has a lengthy history of involvement in all types of master funds and wrap accounts dating back to the late eighties, including product design and development, administration and distribution.

Bernie Toohey

EXPERIENCE:
Bernie is the Chairman and Development Manager of Gold Financial Pty Ltd. He has over 29 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is also the joint responsible manager for its Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) 291389. In addition to holding senior roles in marketing, compliance, training and Adviser technical and strategy support, he is also a specialist financial adviser.

His main areas of expertise are in Superannuation and Retirement Planning, Business and Personal Insurance and Wealth Creation Strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bernie holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking), is a Fellow Chartered Financial Practitioner and holds the designation of Certified Insurance Professional.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS:
Bernie is a life member of the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) and a past President for Victoria and Tasmania. He also served two terms as National Vice-President. In 2003, he was awarded the honour of AFA National Financial Adviser of the Year.

He is also a senior associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance. He abides by the codes of conduct and ethics of both of these professional bodies.

Ryan Barber

Ryan Barber is the Operations Manager of Gold Financial Pty Ltd. He has over 17 years experience in accounting, corporate secretarial and operations management experience with the last nine years in the financial services industry.

Ryan is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK and an Associate of the Chartered Secretaries Australia.
